Who we are
Aloi is a recruitment service for manufacturing industries, based in Greater Montreal, Quebec.
In this policy, “we” means Aloi. The policy covers this website and our recruitment work with candidates and employers.
Person in charge of protecting personal information
You can reach our person in charge of the protection of personal information at confidentialite@aloi.ca. Write to this address with any question, request or complaint about your personal information.
What we collect
When you apply
- your name, email address and phone number;
- your city or area;
- the kind of job you want, the shifts you can work, and whether you are legally entitled to work in Canada;
- your résumé and your message, if you send them, and whatever you choose to put in them.
We do not ask for your date of birth, a photo, your social insurance number, your marital or family status, or your place of birth. None of it is needed to apply, so please leave it out of your résumé.
When an employer contacts us
The business contact details of the person who writes to us, and information about the positions to fill.
When you report a fraudulent posting
The details you send us and, if you give it, your email address.
When you visit the site
This site uses no cookies and no tracking or advertising technology for visitors. Our host processes technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it against attacks.
Why we use it
- to process your application and contact you about it;
- to present your file to an employer, only with your consent (see below);
- if you ask us to, to contact you about other openings for 24 months;
- to answer employers and anyone who contacts us;
- to detect fraud and protect the site;
- to meet our legal obligations.
We use your information only for these purposes. We never sell it and never use it for advertising.
Consent and sharing
Our postings are confidential. Before your file is sent to an employer, we tell you which company it is and ask for your agreement. Without your agreement, nothing is sent.
To run the site and our service, we use providers that process information on our behalf, under contract, and only for our purposes:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this website and stores applications and résumés;
- our email provider hosts our mailboxes.
Some of this information is stored or processed outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before using these providers, we assessed the privacy risks, and they are bound by contracts that protect your information.
Automated decisions
No decision about you is made by automated processing. A person reads every application.
How long we keep it
- Applications: 12 months after they are sent, or 24 months if you ask us to keep your file for other openings.
- If a hiring decision is made about you, we keep the file for at least one year after that decision, as the law requires, and then destroy it.
- Employer requests: 36 months.
- Fraud reports: 12 months.
Files are deleted automatically at the end of these periods. You can ask us to delete your file sooner.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- ask to see the information we hold about you;
- have it corrected;
- withdraw your consent, for example to leave the talent pool;
- ask us to delete your file;
- ask for a copy of the information you gave us, in a structured and commonly used format.
Write to confidentialite@aloi.ca. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Applications and résumés are stored encrypted by our host and can be viewed only by our recruiter, through password-protected access. Every download and deletion of a file is logged. If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.
How we manage personal information
Our person in charge of the protection of personal information decides how information is collected, used, kept and destroyed, handles access requests and complaints, and keeps a register of confidentiality incidents. Only the people who need a file to do their work can see it.
To make a complaint, write to confidentialite@aloi.ca and describe the situation. We acknowledge every complaint and answer it in writing within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We publish any change on this page, with its date.
